Superintendent Cedric D. Johnson, Sr. was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Reverend Austin A. Powell, Sr. and Ms. Shirley Y. Johnson. He is a graduate of William M. Raines, Sr. High School. Post graduation, Superintendent Johnson, Sr. furthered his education at Florida Memorial College, Florida Community College at Jacksonville, Oxford University (Oxford, England),Howard University, and Edward Waters College. 

Superintendent Johnson, Sr. earned an Associate of Arts Degree and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, and graduated with high honors with both degrees. He is currently working on his Masters in Theology at

Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia.

Superintendent Johnson, Sr. accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 18 and was baptized with the Holy Ghost the same year. He was and still is a member of Southside Church Of God In Christ where Bishop Edward Robinson, Sr. is pastor. Superintendent Johnson, Sr. accepted his calling into the ministry in January 1986, and was licensed as a minister to preach at Southside Church Of God In Christ on September 04, 1988. In March 1997, he was ordained as an Elder by the late Bishop C.D. Kinsey.

Superintendent Johnson, Sr. received his first pastorate at Bailey Temple Church Of God In Christ in Crystal River, Florida by appointment of the late Bishop C.D. Kinsey. Superintendent Johnson, Sr. served as pastor of the Bailey Temple Church Of God In Christ from March 1999 to July 2001.

In October 2001, after the leading of the Lord, Superintendent Johnson, Sr. started Carpenter’s House Church Of God In Christ in Jacksonville, Florida where he serves as pastor. In June 2009, he was also appointed Interim Pastor of

Abundant Life Church of God in Christ, and served there faithfully until February 2012. 

In February 2014, Superintendent Johnson, Sr. was elevated and appointed by Bishop Edward Robinson, Sr., to the office of Superintendent in the Church of God in Christ. The name of the district is called, The Koinonia District, which translated in Greek means, "Fellowship of Believers".

On a Jurisdictional level, Superintendent Johnson, Sr. served faithfully as Chief of Staff, Jurisdictional Administrator and Episcopal Adjutant, from 2003-2016 under the leadership of Bishop Edward Robinson, Sr., prelate of Florida Central Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

Superintendent Johnson, Sr. serves as one of Bishop Robinson's Administrative Assistants, as of December 2016.

Superintendent Johnson, Sr. married Ravandala Irene Lumpkin-Johnson on

October 18, 1997. They have two beautiful children: Carrington Dion Johnson - Mercer, (Minister Darrius L. Mercer) and Cedric DeVaughn Johnson, II.

Superintendent Johnson, Sr. is an anointed, dynamic, prophetical preacher. His desire is to see all come to the kingdom of GOD.
